The Belton Area Museum Association (BAMA) is excited to announce our newest exhibit- Littles: Miniature Collections. The exhibit will open Sept. 8 at the Belton Depot.
“We need your help in putting special collections on display,” stated BAMA executive director Abigail Burden.
Littles is an exhibit featuring small items for a collection, such as thimbles, spoons, shot glasses, blown glass animals, doll house furniture, trinkets, curio items, snuff boxes, and other tiny objects.
“If you have anything that can be put on display during the exhibit duration, please bring your items by the museum by Wednesday, Sept. 4. Or call the museum at 864-338-7400 to arrange pickup,” said Burden.
The exhibit will open with a celebration on Sunday, Sept. 8. In addition to viewing the exhibit, attendees can enjoy a craft making station creating tiny everyday objects from clay, a dessert station featuring tiny treats, and a scavenger hunt looking for the smallest of items in the exhibit.
Additional activities throughout the exhibit run include a holiday cooking class featuring miniature canapes, petit fours, and other tiny treats led by Chef Chris Moree. Check back for more details on costs and dates.
The exhibit will be open to the public free of charge until December 14. Museum hours are Wednesday thru Friday 9 – 2 and Saturdays 10 – noon. Or call the museum at 369-338-7400 to arrange group tours.
“Help us put together a great exhibit and then join us for the opening celebration on Sunday, Sept. 8, from 3 – 5 pm at the historic Belton Train Depot,” encouraged Burden.
