Drunken Dogs Will Make You Howl at The Moon

My mom used to make these when she entertained and I’ve always enjoyed them. My husband can’t get enough of the mini dogs made this way. We make them almost every weekend during football season and often during the off season. The ingredients are simple and may sound a bit blah but trust me, something happens as this simmers that makes the flavor.

Drunken Dogs
1 – Bottle of ketchup
1 – Bottle of your favorite beer
2 – Packages of mini sausages or mini dogs (or combo one of each)
Put all ingredients in either sauce pan or crock pot, bring to boil then lower to a simmer and simmer for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour, the longer the better. Pour into a bowl or leave in crock post and set toothpicks nearby to serve and enjoy!!
Your friends will not believe the sauce is just beer and ketchup. We have tried different flavor beers and they all work great. May even try some of the new ketchups they have out now.
