GAMAC presents USO Sweetheart’s Dance!

The Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium (GAMAC)
will present a _USO Sweetheart’s Dance_ featuring the Electric City
Big Band with vocalist, Mary Jane Ewing on Saturday, February 14, 2015
at 7:00pm in the large hangar at the Anderson Regional Airport.
Featuring the best in 1940’s style Big Band and Swing music, dancing,
heavy hors d’oeuvres, period aircraft and much more, the evening
promises to be a Valentine’s Day that you and your sweetheart will
never forget!

The GAMAC Events Committee will transform the 20,000 sq.ft aircraft
hangar into an authentic 1940’s dance hall complete with dance floor,
band stand, aircraft and military vehicles. Attendees will enjoy a
delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres buffet along with great wines from
Viva! Il Vino, select beers and various soft drinks. The Electric City
Big Band under the direction of Mr. Alan Nowell will perform Big Band
and Swing dance favorites for dancing throughout the evening. A
highlight of the night will be a performance by Grammy Award nominee and
jazz vocalist, Mary Jane Ewing. Known as “The Rose of New Orleans,”
Ms. Ewing is renowned as one of the top jazz vocalists in the nation.

Attire for the evening is “Dressy Casual” with 1940’s costumes
encouraged. Patrons wishing to brush-up on their dance moves can
purchase a special ticket to participate in a dance less with Dennis
Adams, Vice-President of the Golden Corner Ballroom Dance Club prior to
the event.

Reservations for the USO Sweetheart’s Dinner Dance are required.
Because this is a catered event, patrons are asked to make their
reservations by Tuesday, February 10. Tickets are $50 per person without
the dance lesson and include dinner, drinks and dancing. Tickets
including the dance lesson with dinner are $75 per person. Patrons may
also purchase tables of 8 for $400 without the dance lesson and $600
with the lesson. All proceeds from this event will benefit GAMAC in its
mission to entertain, educate and enrich lives in the Anderson area with
