Melissa Higgs was born in Anderson, but grew up in Columbia. She moved back to the Upstate to attend Wofford College where she received Bachelor’s degrees in English and Government. She also received a Master’s degree in City & Regional Planning from Clemson University. After working in public works, she decided to return to her passion for literature and writing and became certified to teach English. She teaches in Oconee County where she enjoys helping students find joy in reading and writing. When she isn’t searching for her next best read with her book club, Melissa can be found at the baseball field, in the great outdoors, and at Clemson athletic events.
