Lisa Marie Carter was the social media guru and the online editor for Anderson Magazine. Being in publishing for more than 20 years and loving the Anderson area and all that April and Anderson Magazine brought to Andersonians, she decided to keep April’s vision going by running the magazine online. Lisa is the Publisher and Editor of the new online Anderson Magazine.

She has worked with various publications, including magazines and newspapers across the United States, and has a social media and marketing business, LMC Marketing.

As a transplant from, well, a bit of everywhere, she uses her experiences and love of travel to bring fun and unique articles online for Anderson Magazine, such as her Trademarked “Tank Away Getaway” and “Wine And Dine.” Anderson was also the home of her and her husband George’s first furbaby, Gela, who they adopted from the Anderson County Humane Society.

Lisa’s love of animals is very obvious as she helped start and is the treasurer of the Hyco K-9 Fund, a local 501c3 charity that was formed to honor ACSO K9 Hyco, who was shot and killed in the line of duty.  The proceeds from all fundraisers with the Hyco K-9 Fund benefit K9s across South Carolina by purchasing much-needed equipment/gear and training that may otherwise not be covered by that department’s budget. She is also the founder and President of the G.E.L.A Foundation, a non-profit that helps local rescues and shelters promote their shelter pups and also assists with unexpected expenses.

Lisa enjoys her daily morning run, paddle boarding, yoga, reading, cooking, and gardening. When Lisa’s not planning the next animal fundraiser or working on magazine business, she enjoys sitting on her back patio with a great glass of wine and relaxing with her rescue pups Rieland and Marclee (and her husband when he’s not working) or spending time with her amazing friends.
