Margaritaville at Lanier Islands AnnouncesMulti-Million Dollar Enhancements

Plans include a water park rebrand to Fins Up Water Park, winter attractions and park improvements to become one of Georgia’s top entertainment destinations

Buford, GA (November 2, 2023) – Following the announcement of Apocalypso, Georgia’s largest waterslide coaster coming in 2024, Margaritaville at Lanier Islands will undergo a series of multi-million-dollar enhancements, including the rebranding of The Water Park at Lanier Islands to Fins Up Water Park. This is the first Margaritaville Fins Up Water Park in the U.S., with a second existing location in Nassau, Bahamas.

The location’s comprehensive reimagining will secure its status as the go-to destination in the metro Atlanta region. Among the enhancements are four exhilarating and splash-defying waterslides, including the highly anticipated Apocalpyso, along with Mango Mania, Dreamsicle Dive and Serpentine Storm. Additionally, Fins Up Water Park will feature new premium cabanas, food and beverage options, an expanded Wibit Aquatic Adventure water playground and expanded retail offerings.

The iconic tower featuring the four new jaw-dropping waterslide coasters will break ground in late fall 2023, raising the total count of waterslides to an impressive 15. The series of renovations, scheduled for completion in spring 2024, will guarantee an even greater experience for guests.

Additionally, for those looking to stay and play, Camp Margaritaville RV Resort will break ground on new family-friendly features. Only a few minutes away from the water park, the destination presently features 175 RV sites, seven charming lakeside tiny cabins and two spacious “glamping” tent cottages, as well as complimentary wi-fi, guest laundry, an upscale bathhouse and more. This fall, renovations will add a pool, pickleball courts, a playground, a pavilion and a dog wash station.

And for those who love the magic of snow in the south, License to Chill Snow Island is back on November 11. The winter wonderland will feature the 575-foot-long, eight-story Blizzard Mountain snow tubing experience, amusement rides and Frosty’s Ice Rink for skating enthusiasts. Additionally, guests can enjoy a snowball alley, a cozy café and bakeshop and more. For a nominal fee, patrons can also revel in the enchanting winter light show, Lakeside Lights Spectacular.

“Our aim with these expansions and renovations is to position Margaritaville at Lanier Islands as the ultimate destination for family fun and entertainment,” said “Bucky” Perry, Vice President of Margaritaville at Lanier Islands. “Year-round, friends and families can enjoy a range of thrilling to chilling activities at Fins Up Water Park, Camp Margaritaville RV Resort or License to Chill Snow Island. To help amp up the excitement, the public can tune in to watch the renovations unfold in real-time through our construction cameras,” he added.

To celebrate these upcoming enhancements, Margaritaville at Lanier Islands is launching its Winter Golden Fin Pass sale for License to Chill Snow Island beginning Saturday, November 4, through Cyber Monday, November 27. The pass, priced at $69.99, includes park admission, LandShark Landing access and seasonal resort and parking entry. All season pass holders can bypass the $20 gate entry fee into Lanier Islands on every visit. Families purchasing two season passes will enjoy the added perk of free admission for children ages 3 to 5 through the Pre-K Pass program. The Winter Golden Fin Pass expires on February 25, 2024.
