Where to Find Christmas in Anderson

This year there is no shortage of places to go and things to do to get into the Christmas spirit in and around Anderson. Below are just a few of the events and activities where you can find Christmas in Anderson. 

Drive Through Nativity at North Anderson Baptist Church, 2308 N. Main St. Anderson November 30-December 2 you can drive through the town of Bethlehem from 6:30pm – 8:30pm to see some of the highlights of Jesus’ life. 

City of Anderson Tree Lighting Ceremony, Downtown Anderson                           

This has quickly turned into a beloved family event overflowing with festivities, hot chocolate, food and fun. Come downtown on December 8th to eat dinner at one of our fabulous restaurants and then see the downtown Christmas tree be lit up in front of the courthouse at 6:30pm!

Holiday Ice at Carolina Wren Park, Downtown Anderson

Beginning Friday December 1 at 5pm you can ice skate into the holidays every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in December at Holiday Ice. Admission is $5 for ages 7+ and includes skate rental. The kiddie rink, for children 6 and under, is FREE. 

Storytime With Santa, Anderson County Library Main Branch

Santa will be making many appearances in Anderson this Christmas and Tuesday December 19 at 2:30pm you can find him at the Anderson County Library to read fun holiday stories to children. Little ones can tell Santa what they hope he brings them, leave their letters, and do other fun holiday activities at this event. Registration is required. Call (864) 260-4500 extension 158 to register. 

Anderson Lights of Hope, 150 Rose Valley Blvd. Anderson

Come to Anderson Lights of Hope now through Christmas day from 5:30pm – 10pm every night to see an impressive light display, regional and national talent performing, and Santa in his newly decorated lodge. The cost of admission is $10 per carload or $25 for a 15-passenger bus or larger. 

A Christmas Carol, Clemson Little Theatre 214 S Mechanic St. Pendleton, SC 

Enjoy a production of the Christmas classic about miserly Scrooge who spends a magical and life changing Christmas Eve with the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. You can see this beloved show on December 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, and 10. Friday and Saturday productions start at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees start at 3pm. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Electric City Playhouse 514 N Murray Ave Anderson

Anderson is full of Christmas plays this year and The Electric City Playhouse gets in the spirit with a production of another classic. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a hilarious play about a couple trying their best to put on a church Christmas pageant with some of the craziest kids in town. Show dates are December 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17. Show times are 7:30pm each day, except for December 16th in which there will be a 3pm and a 7:30pm showing.
